An Electric outboard motor is measured in LB thrust not HP, this is because even the most powerful is not 1 hp !
These motors will do what a pair of oars will do but if you can not row because the tide / current / waves / wind is too strong an electric outboard will not cope either.
The Torqeedo is the exception to this as it is a true 2 (603) 0r 3 hp (1103)
